After some powerful lessons at the hands of two great men, fifth graders graduated D.A.R.E. After the passing of Officer Collins in the middle of the program it was a concern as to whether the students would be able to finish what Officer Collins had started. We were fortunate enough to have Officer Duhnovsky of the Culver Police Department step into the teaching role and finish out the remainder of the program. The students had to complete a essay about what D.A.R.E. means to them, and one winner was chosen from each class. With a very powerful essay, Shelby from my class won! Congratulations Shelby!
