The past week we have been reading about weather in Science. Students learned about air mass and fronts, which bring tornadoes. We took time out to practice what we have learned. Students were given instructions to follow and questions to answer in this tornado lab. We really enjoyed creating our tornadoes and discussing sizes and intensity of them. Take a look at all the fun we had!

Do you know what D.A.R.E. stands for? Our class does! Ask your student to test their memory! For the next couple of months, we get the pleasure of having Officer Collins visiting our class every Friday to teach the class about drug awareness. Officer Collins has told us some scary facts regarding VERY young students who have had exposure to drugs. The key is education at an early age.
This week Officer Collins explained to students the dangers of tobacco. Not only is firsthand smoking a problem, but secondhand smoke is as well. Smoking is a very addictive habit that is hard to stop once you start. The take-away lesson from today was to never start. Thanks Officer Collins for sharing all of your vast knowledge with us. |
