Monday launched our first of three fundraisers for the year! Everything we raise goes toward 5th grade supplies and to help offset student cost for Camp Amigo. Tupperware has been a big fundraiser for us year after year. They donate 40% of the sale to us, and they provide great, guaranteed products! Your child will come home today with the fundraiser booklet, order form, and a letter explaining how to sell. The fundraiser runs today through Friday, October 4th. Products can also be ordered at www.tinyurl.com/triton5. The top 5th grade seller will win a FREE large, yellow ECO water bottle from Tupperware. As an added incentive to sell, the top 5th grade student in each class cumulatively over the course of all the fundraisers will win a FREE trip to Camp Amigo! I know fundraisers can be a hassle, but the nice thing about Tupperware is it sells itself. Think Christmas gifts! Remember, the more money we make in fundraisers this year, the cheaper we can offer the Camp Amigo trip to each student. Help us make the trip more affordable for everyone. Thanks for your support! Today marks the 12th anniversary of September 11th. The class I have this year is the first group of students that were not even born with this terrible event occurred. I find it difficult to relay to them the gravity of that fateful day and the impact it had on our country. Students read an article care of Dogo News that helps them better understand the events that surrounded that day and the effect it had on all U.S. citizens. I also showed them this movie above which relays how the anniversary of 9/11 now has come to represent a day of service.
